# Direct messages

Club HubClub admins, secretaries, team management, welfare officers and team managers2 min read

The people who help run your club can message each other one to one, in the Club Hub and the Team Hub.

## Sending a message

1. Open **Messages**.
2. Press the button in the bottom corner, then **New direct message**. Find your colleague by name and press **Message**.
3. Write your message and press **Post**.

Your conversations are in the one **Messages** list, with your teams’ messages and groups, latest first, each saying what it is and what you haven’t read yet. The same conversation appears in the Team Hub too.

## Who can message

The people who help run the club: admins, secretaries, team management, welfare officers, and each team’s manager. Players and guardians can’t send or receive direct messages.

When somebody messages you, LEKKIN tells you who wrote, never what they said: in your inbox, by email, and with a notification on your phone if you use the Team Hub there.

## Keeping groups out

A club admin chooses which groups may never send or receive a direct message, even if they also help run a team. Open **Configure**, then the **Settings** tab, and tick them under **Direct messages**:

- **Youth squads**: anyone in the squad of one of your youth teams. This is ticked to begin with, so a 16-year-old helping with the Under 9s can’t be messaged privately.
- **Players**: anyone who plays for the club.
- **Guardians**: anyone recorded as a player’s guardian.

Then press **Save** under the list. Somebody in a group you tick stops sending and receiving straight away.

## If something isn’t right

Any message can be reported with the flag next to it. Reports go to your welfare officer (or your admins, if there isn’t one), who can read the conversation and hide a message. Messages are kept for two years.
