# Your account, and who can get into your club

Club HubEveryone. Giving people a role is for club admins5 min read

Your own account lives in one place for every LEKKIN app. Who else can get into your club is decided by your club admins, on the Staff & access tab of People.

## Your account

Open **Account**. On a phone it’s in **More**, in the bottom bar. On a computer, press your name at the foot of the side menu.

It shows the email you’re signed in with and your name, then **Manage your account →**, **Appearance**, **Notification settings →** and **Sign out**.

![The Account page: the email you’re signed in with and your name, Manage your account, Appearance set to System, Notification settings and Sign out](/help/club/your-account-and-access-1.jpg)

**Appearance** chooses **Light**, **Dark** or **System**, which follows your device. It applies to every LEKKIN app on that device.

## Changing your name, email or password

These are changed in one place for all the LEKKIN apps: your account page on the LEKKIN sign-in site.

1. Press **Manage your account →**, from Account or from the menu at the foot of the side menu.
2. Change what you need:
    - **Your photo** — a picture of your face, shown at the foot of the side menu and beside your messages in chats. Press **Add a photo** and choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP picture under 2 MB; it saves straight away. **Remove** takes it off.
    - **Your name** — your first name and last name, which are both needed, and a **Display name (optional)**: the name you’re known by, if it isn’t your first and last name. Where it’s set, it’s shown instead.
    - **Change email** — enter the new address and your current password, then press **Send confirmation link**. Your old email stays in place until you click the link in the email we send to the new one.
    - **Change password** — enter your current password and the new one twice. Your other sessions are signed out.
    - **Two-factor authentication** and **Passkeys** — a second step at sign-in, or signing in with Face ID, a fingerprint or your device’s PIN. Everyone with a role needs one of them: see [Setting up two-step sign-in](/help/club/two-step-sign-in/).
3. Use the back link at the top to return to the app you came from.

**Forgotten your password?** Use **Forgotten your password?** on the sign-in page.

**Connected an AI assistant?** It’s listed on the same account page, under **Connected assistants**, where you can disconnect it. See [Connecting an AI assistant](/help/developers/connecting-an-ai-assistant/).

## Signing out

Open **Account** and press **Sign out**. You’re taken back to the sign-in page.

## Deleting your account

Open **Account**, choose **Manage your account**, and press **Delete your account** at the bottom. (In the Player Hub, **Account** has a **Delete your account** link straight to it.)

Before anything happens, it says what goes and what stays:

- **Goes:** your name, email address, date of birth and photo; your password, passkeys and two-step sign-in; your access to every club and team; your notifications and settings.
- **Stays, without your name:** payments, which clubs have to keep for six years (tax); consents you gave, until 12 months after the player leaves the club; messages you wrote, for two years from when they were written (six where anything in the thread was reported or hidden, so a safeguarding concern raised late can still be looked into); match records. The [privacy notice](/privacy/) has the full list.

You confirm it’s you with your password. If you sign in without one, your device asks for your passkey (Face ID, a fingerprint or your PIN) instead. If we can’t check it’s you either way, the account can’t be deleted from the app: contact support and we’ll help. You’re signed out everywhere, and we email the address the account had to say it’s done. It can’t be undone.

**If you’re the only admin of a club**, it says so first. You can still delete your account, but the club is left with nobody to run it, so make someone else an admin first if you can. If you don’t, we’ll get in touch with the club to find someone.

## Who can get into your club

Access comes from a **role**. The roles your club can give are:

-   at the club: **Administrator**, **Secretary** and **Team management**, plus **Developer** if your club has the developer platform;
- at a team: **Team manager** and **Coach**.

A role at the club covers every team. A team manager or coach covers only their team. For what each role can do, see [Who in your club can do what](/help/club/who-can-do-what/).

## Giving somebody a role

Roles are on the **Staff & access** tab of **People**, which club admins and secretaries see. Giving and removing roles is for club admins. Secretaries can only invite (see below).

1. Open **People**, then the **Staff & access** tab.
2. Press the button in the bottom corner and choose **Edit staff member roles**, then where the role is: the club, or one of its teams.
3. Search for the person by name or email, and choose them. The list is the people your club already knows: its players, its staff, and anybody who already holds a role at the club or one of its teams.
4. Choose the **Role** and press **Grant role**.

![The Grant a role sheet for the club: search by name or email, a list of people the club knows, a Role picker and a Grant role button](/help/club/your-account-and-access-2.jpg)

Press a person’s card on **Staff & access** to open their page: their photo, and every role they hold at the club and in each team. To take a role away, press **Remove** and the role’s name there, and confirm. If you added them with **Add staff member** and they haven’t accepted yet, removing the role also cancels their invitation. Two things can’t be removed here, on purpose: **your own role**, so you can’t lock yourself out, and an **Owner**, which is protected.

**The club’s photo of them.** On a staff member’s page, **Staff photo** in the button in the bottom corner adds the club’s own photo of them, shown on their card and page instead of the one they chose. They’re told, and can remove it from **Account**. A team’s manager can do the same for that team’s own manager and coaches, in the Team Hub.

If your club is part of an organisation, its admins aren’t listed here. They run every club in the organisation through the organisation itself, and are changed in the Organisation Hub.

## Somebody new to the club

Giving a role only lists people your club already knows. For anybody else, such as a new secretary or a new team manager, a club admin uses **Add staff member**.

1. Open **People**, then the **Staff & access** tab, and choose **Add staff member** from the button in the bottom corner.
2. Enter their **first name**, **last name** and **email**. A display name is optional.
3. Under **Where**, choose the whole club, or one of its teams.
4. Choose the **Role**. At a team, that’s **Team manager** or **Coach**.
5. Press **Add and invite**.

![The Add staff member sheet: their name, their email, Where set to Riverside FC First Team, a choice of role with Team manager chosen over Coach, and an Add and invite button](/help/club/your-account-and-access-3.jpg)

What happens next depends on whether their email address already has a LEKKIN account:

- **No account yet.** They’re on the list straight away, with the role, and we email them an invitation to sign in and set a password.
- **They already have a LEKKIN account.** Nothing changes until they accept. We email them an invitation, and they get the role when they accept it. Until then they aren’t on the role lists: they’re under **Invited, waiting for them to accept**, with the date the link stops working. Press **Withdraw** there if you invited the wrong address or change your mind, and the link in their email stops working.

If the invitation email doesn’t send, the sheet tells you. Somebody new is on the list already, so they can use **Forgotten your password?** on the sign-in page with that email address to get in. For somebody who already has an account, add them again to send another invitation.

If they already hold that role there, you’re told so and nothing changes.

**Secretaries** don’t see **Add staff member**. They see **Invite someone** instead: enter an email, and the person becomes a secretary when they accept the invitation.

## Players and guardians

Players and guardians don’t use the Club Hub. They get into the Player Hub when the club invites them, or approves their request to join. See [Teams, players and fixtures](/help/club/teams-players-and-fixtures/).

When somebody accepts an invitation, a new person sets a password. Somebody who already has a LEKKIN account signs in and accepts with that account.

## I can sign in but I can’t see a club

Ask one of that club’s admins to give you a role, then sign in again.
