Connecting Stripe

FinancesClub admins3 min read

Players, guardians and anyone hiring your pitches pay your club through its own Stripe account. You connect it in Finances, under Getting paid. It’s one of the steps on your set-up checklist.

Connecting Stripe

Payments go straight into your club’s own Stripe account, and Stripe pays them out to your bank. LEKKIN never holds your club’s money.

  1. Open Finances from the app menu, then Getting paid. (The Club Hub’s set-up checklist and its Set up payments buttons bring you here too.)
  2. Press Connect with Stripe. You’re taken to Stripe to set up your club’s account, or sign in to one it already has.
  3. Stripe asks for your club’s details and the bank account payments should land in. Then it brings you back.

If the page says Stripe still needs a few things, your account is linked but Stripe hasn’t finished checking it. That’s normal: it’s usually a document or a bank detail. Press Continue with Stripe to give them whatever is outstanding. Nothing else stops in the meantime.

When it says You’re set up to take payments, you’re done, and the step on your checklist is ticked.

Direct Debit

Card payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, work as soon as Stripe is happy. For Direct Debit, Stripe sometimes needs one more detail, usually an email address your members can contact you on. The page says Direct Debit needs one more detail until it has it. It’s worth finishing: on regular payments, Direct Debit costs your club far less than cards.

How players and guardians can pay

Under How players and guardians can pay, card and Direct Debit are always offered. Your Stripe account may be able to take other ways too, such as Klarna or Link: each is off until you tick it.

Where the money shows

Each payout Stripe makes to your bank, and what it was made of, is in your Club account: see Your club account and payouts.

Who can do this

Club admins. Stripe asks for details only someone who can speak for the club should give.
