Match day
Match day lists your teams’ completed matches. For a home game you record the crowd and the gate; for any game, what it cost. Each match then shows whether it made money or lost it.
Your ticket prices and officials’ fees
Open Finances, then Match day, then the Prices and fees tab.
Ticket bands are your prices: adult, concession, under-16, family. Press Add, then Add a ticket band, and give it a name and a price (0 for free entry). A band can be for every team or for one, and for every competition or for one, so a cup game can be priced differently. A match offers the bands that apply to it.
To stop using a band, open it and press Stop selling. It comes off new matches; matches it was counted at keep it, at the price it was then.
Officials’ fees are what each competition pays its referee and each assistant. Set them once and a match’s fees fill in for you.
The matches
The Matches tab lists your teams’ completed matches from the last season or so, home games first. Each shows what it made or lost, and what’s still to record: the crowd and gate of a home game, and any match’s costs. The dashboard counts those from the last month.
Recording a home game
Open the match. Under Crowd and gate, either:
- choose By ticket band and enter how many came in on each. The crowd and the gate are worked out for you; or
- choose One total and enter the crowd and what was taken.
Choose which category the gate goes under (Match day and gate to start with) and press Save crowd and gate. The gate goes into Money in and out as one line. Change the numbers and save again, and that same line changes: it’s never counted twice.
A match’s other money
Press Record on the match to add a cost, or money in, for that match: the programme, the bar, the tea hut, stewarding, a coach to an away game. Add officials’ fees fills in the referee and two assistants from the competition’s fees, which you can change before saving.
Everything recorded against a match is listed under Money on the day, and is on the books like any other line, so budgets and reports include it.
Gate shares
Where a cup splits the gate, set it once under Prices and fees: Set a gate share (from the Add button), the competition, the percentage, whether it’s of the whole gate or of what’s left after the match’s costs, and whether it goes to the away club or the competition.
Then each home game’s share goes on the books as a cost of that match when you save its gate, and changes with it. Away, the match says what share is due to you, and Record it puts it in when it arrives.
Cash on the day
Under Cash on the day, count the cash box before and after the match:
- Float: the cash you put in the box before the match, for change. It isn’t takings.
- Counted at the end: everything in the box after the match, float included. Less the float, it’s what you took in cash.
- Banked: what you paid into the bank from it, for your records. It doesn’t change the check.
The page compares what you took in cash with the money recorded in for the match, and says if it balances, is short, or is over. A shortfall can go on the books as a cost in one tap.
Each club keeps its own
Both clubs in a match see it in their own Finances, and each records its own money. Nothing one club records is seen by the other.
