What you owe, and what you've paid

Player HubPlayers, and guardians2 min read

Payments shows one number for what's outstanding, what it's for, and the history behind it — so you don't have to ask the manager.

Finding it

From the home screen, tap Payments on the person’s card. If you look after more than one player, each has their own — the money is owed by each of them separately, so one combined figure wouldn’t tell you which child is behind.

What it shows

Outstanding at the top is what’s still to pay. Underneath, Still to pay lists each charge: what it’s for, which club is asking, and when it’s due.

Then Already settled is the history — what you’ve paid, and how. That’s the answer to “did I pay that?” when somebody asks you a second time.

Things worth knowing

  • “Payment on its way” means you’ve done your bit. A Direct Debit takes a few days to reach the club. If a date is shown — “Leaving your account on 14 October” — there’s nothing to do, and nobody should be chasing you.
  • A charge can be written off by the club, and where they’ve given a reason you’ll see it. It means you’re not being asked for that one.
  • The club is always named, even when the team is too. If you play for two clubs, you need to know which one is asking.

Paying

If your club takes payments through lekkin, each charge under Still to pay has a Pay button. It asks for what’s left — if you’ve already paid part of it, you won’t be asked for the whole amount again.

  • Your money goes straight to the club. Card and bank details are handled by Stripe and never reach lekkin. A card payment shows the club’s name on your statement; a Direct Debit shows as Stripe, with a reference that names the club.
  • If your card is declined, you can try another one on the same screen. Nothing has been taken.
  • By card, it’s done in a moment and the charge moves to Already settled.
  • By Direct Debit, where your club offers it, it takes a few working days to reach them. You’ll see Payment on its way in the meantime, and there’s nothing else to do.

Paying automatically by Direct Debit

Where your club collects regular payments by Direct Debit, Payments has a Pay automatically card. Set it up once and the payments you choose are taken for you each time the club charges them, so you don’t have to remember.

  • You choose what it pays. The card lists the club’s monthly and weekly payments, such as subs or insurance. Tick the ones you want paid automatically. Nothing is ticked until you choose.
  • Setting it up takes you to Stripe’s secure page to enter your bank details, then brings you back. Your bank confirms it within about three working days, and there’s nothing else to do.
  • You can also set it up while paying. When you pay a monthly or weekly charge by Direct Debit, tick Pay future … automatically by Direct Debit and later ones will be taken for you.
  • Each payment is taken when the club charges it, before it’s due. You’ll get an email from Stripe a few days before every payment.
  • Change what it pays at any time. Use Change what it pays to add a payment or take one off. You don’t need to set it up again. Anything you add is taken from its next charge, not for anything already owed.
  • Match fees and one-off charges are never included. They’re still paid here, one at a time.
  • Stop it whenever you like with Stop Direct Debit. A payment that’s already on its way still goes through.
  • If your bank stops it, the card says so, and you can set it up again.

No Pay button? Your club doesn’t take payments here yet. Pay them the way you normally do — they’ll record it, and it’ll move to Already settled.

If something looks wrong

Speak to your team manager or the club secretary. They can see the same charge, and they can cancel or exempt it if it shouldn’t have been raised.
