Answering an invitation to play

Club HubClub admins and team managers2 min read

Say yes or no to a game another club has arranged, and choose your team.

Opening it

The invitation comes as an email from LEKKIN, or as a link the other club sends you. Open it, and sign in if you’re asked. It opens in the Club Hub, even if you only run one team.

You’re shown:

  • who’s asking, the name they know your club by, and the game, home side first;
  • when, where, and the competition;
  • their note, if they left one (“your Under 12s Girls”, say);
  • when the link runs out.

Accepting

  1. If you run teams at more than one club, choose Which club is playing? first.
  2. Choose the team. Only the teams you run are listed, the ones that match the team that invited you first (the same age group, men’s, women’s or mixed). Show all lists the rest. If there’s only one, it’s chosen for you.
  3. Press Accept.

The match is on both clubs’ fixtures straight away. Your team is entered in the competition if it wasn’t, and your squad is told and can say whether they’re available. Open the match takes you to it in the Team Hub.

Not on LEKKIN yet?

The email has Set up your club on LEKKIN: sign up there (your club’s name is filled in), confirm your email, and you come straight back to the invitation with your new team to choose. If you open the invitation first, the sign-in page offers Set up your club too.

Declining

Press Decline and confirm. We tell the club that asked, and the link stops working. Nothing is added to your fixtures.

If it says something else

  • “There’s nobody here you can answer for”: you’re signed in, but you don’t run a team that could play. That needs a club admin, or a team’s manager, at a club other than the one that sent it, with a team in the same sport. Pass the link to whoever runs the team. It still works for them.
  • “This invitation can’t be used”: it’s been answered already, withdrawn, or has run out. Ask the club for a new one.

Who can do this

A club admin, for any of the club’s teams. A team’s manager, for their own team. The link works once, so whoever answers first decides.
