Hiding what your club doesn't use
If your club doesn't take payments, run its own messages or record matches live, switch those parts off and they drop out of everyone's menus.
Answering a few questions
The first time you open the Club Hub, it asks what your club uses: a question about each of these parts, such as Do you collect money from players or guardians? Answer Yes, No or Not sure, and at the end it shows what it would set up. Untick or tick anything there, then press Use these settings. Not sure leaves that part as it is.
Press Not now to come back to it later. It asks again the next time you sign in, until it’s answered, and Choose what your club uses is the first step on your set-up checklist until then. When LEKKIN adds a new part you can switch off, you’re asked about that one only.
To go through it all again, open Configure → Features and press Run the set-up again, the round button in the corner. Every question is asked again, each showing what’s set now; Not sure leaves it as it is.
After the questions come a few of your club’s settings, one at a time, each with the same form as Configure → Settings: who is kept out of direct messages, how player of the match is chosen, fines for cards, your code of conduct and, if your club has the Developer platform, AI assistants. Change a setting and press its Save, or press Next to leave it as it is. A setting is only asked about when it applies: fines for cards wait until Payments is on, and direct messages until Messages is. If your club answered the questions before these settings were added, you’re asked about the settings alone.
One admin answers for the whole club. It isn’t shown while someone from LEKKIN is signed in as you.
Facilities asks its own two questions, about invoicing and prices that change by time, when you first open it. See Setting up Facilities.
Switching something off
You can change any of it at any time:
- Open Configure from the menu (in More on a phone), then the Features tab.
- Untick anything your club doesn’t use.
- Press Save.
It’s hidden for everyone at the club, in the Club Hub and in every team’s Team Hub. A team can’t switch back on what the club has switched off. A team can switch off more for itself, though: Teams that chose differently, under the list, shows which teams have, and what they switched off.
What each one hides
- Live match recording: recording goals, cards and substitutions as the game happens, with the clock running. Teams still enter each game after it’s played, adding its goals and cards, so results keep coming in. The Match Day widget leaves your dashboard too.
- Availability: asking players who can play before a match.
- Who came: marking who came to each match once it’s played. Professional sides often don’t need it.
- Training and events: scheduling training and other sessions in the Team Hub.
- Messages: team conversations, groups, direct messages and announcements.
- Payments: asking players and guardians for money, and seeing who has paid.
- Join requests: your club’s join link, and the queue of people asking to join.
- Documents and consent: your club’s documents, and the consents players and guardians have given.
- Season competitions check: asking you to confirm each team’s league and division at the start of a season. The Competitions page itself stays.
Decided by LEKKIN
Now and then LEKKIN decides a feature for your club, for example while it’s being tried out with a few clubs. A feature decided that way isn’t in your list at all, and your teams don’t see it in theirs either.
If LEKKIN has switched a feature off for your club, it can’t be used at all for now, not just hidden. For example, while live match recording is being tried out with a few clubs, other clubs enter each game after it’s played, adding its goals and cards from their notes.
Trying a feature early
When LEKKIN is trying something new with a few clubs before everyone gets it, clubs that qualify see an invitation at the top of their Dashboard, saying what it is and how many places are left. Only club admins see it.
- Join the pilot switches the feature on for your club. You can still hide it for the club or a team, as above.
- Not now hides the invitation for you. Your club’s other admins still see it until one of you answers.
- To leave, open Configure, and under Features press Leave the pilot. The feature goes back to how LEKKIN has it for every club, which may mean it’s switched off for yours. Nothing your teams recorded is lost.
Some pilots are only for clubs with a team in a particular sport or competition, and a pilot has a set number of places, so not every club sees every one.
Nothing is deleted
Switching something off only hides it. Tick it again and everything is where you left it: the messages, the payments, the sessions, the lot.
It hides the menus and the links that lead there, such as a notification about a join request. It doesn’t change who is allowed to do what. See Who can do what.
Teams can hide more
A team’s manager can also hide some of these for their own team. See Hiding what your team doesn’t use.
