Your squad
Your team's players are in one place: People, then Squad.
Seeing your squad
Open People, then the Squad tab. The Staff tab shows who runs the team, as the same photo cards: its manager and coaches, and the club’s team management. Press one to open their page. The team’s manager can add the club’s photo of the team’s own manager and coaches there, from Staff photo in the button in the bottom corner. They’re told, and can remove it from Account. The club’s team management have theirs added by a club admin, in the Club Hub. Your players are grouped by where they play: Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfield and Attackers, then anyone with No position yet. Inside each group they’re in squad-number order. (A netball or rugby team sees its own groups.)
Somebody who plays in more than one group is listed once, under their preferred position.
Each player is a card: their photo at the top (the club’s squad photo if one has been added, otherwise the photo they chose, or their initials until there is one), then their name, their squad number and their positions. On the card, positions are shortened to their usual letters, so a goalkeeper is GK and a centre back CB; the player’s own page spells them out. Their squad number is also drawn large and faint behind their name. Your captain has a C on their photo, and your vice-captain a VC. Two cards fit across a phone and four on a computer.
Anyone who helps with the team can see the list. Changing it is for the team’s manager, team management and club admins.
Earlier seasons
At the top of Squad and Staff, the arrows either side of the season’s name step back through your team’s seasons, and forward again to this one. An earlier season shows everyone who was in the squad at any point that season, or everyone who ran the team then, including people who have since left.
An earlier season is there to look at. You can’t tick anyone, add anyone or change anything, and today’s notices (suspensions, fines) aren’t shown. Somebody still in the squad, or still on the staff, opens their page as usual. Somebody who has left can’t be opened. LEKKIN has kept who held each staff role since November 2026, so a role held and given up before then isn’t listed.
Finding people, and cards or a table
Above the squad, Search finds a player by name and Position shows only the players the team plays in one position. Cards or Table switches between the photo cards and a table of name, squad number and positions; press a column’s heading to sort by it. This device remembers which you chose. Staff has the same choice, with a Role filter.
Several players at once
The team’s manager, team management and club admins see a tick box on each player. Tick one, and from then on tapping anywhere on another player ticks them too, rather than opening their page. Clear unticks everyone, and Select all ticks everyone listed.
With anyone ticked, the button in the bottom corner becomes Act on several:
- Set a position: add one to the positions they have, or make it their only one.
- Ask for a payment: the usual payment form, with just the ticked players ticked.
- Start a group with them: a new group conversation with them in it, ready to name.
- Take out of the squad: they leave the squad from today. They stay at the club.
On Staff, ticking people offers Start a group with them.
A player’s page
Tap a player to open their page. It shows:
- their age, if the club has their date of birth;
- their squad number and positions in this team, with their preferred position marked, and whether they’re captain or vice-captain;
- the club’s other teams they also play for, with their number and positions there;
- Games this season: how many games they started and came on in, and the numbers your sport counts (in football, goals and yellow and red cards; in netball, goals, warnings, suspensions and orderings-off), how many times they were named as a substitute but didn’t play, and how often they were player of the match. Below that are the games they played, each with their part in it; tap one to open its match centre;
- Club details: the club’s own player fields, like shirt size or school. The team’s manager presses Change to fill them in; a coach sees them only. A field the club keeps from team staff isn’t shown;
- Sessions this season: how many sessions they came to, didn’t come to, said no to, or didn’t answer. Tap See sessions for each one, with what they said or whether they came;
- Injuries: what’s wrong now and when they’re expected back, then their injury history. The team’s manager and coaches, team management, club admins and the welfare officer see this, never other players;
- Discipline (football only, as netball’s suspensions are minutes in the game, not bans): any suspension still to serve, with how many matches are left and what it was for; their cautions towards the next ban, with how many more by which date would bring one; and this season’s yellow and red cards;
- Guardians: who to contact about them, with an email to write to. Only the team’s manager, team management and club admins see this.
The season is your team’s own, from the date your league’s season starts.
Suspensions
When a player is sent off, or reaches a caution total (five, ten, fifteen), the suspension is worked out from the competition’s rules as soon as the result is in. It stands straight away, at that length.
The team’s manager and coaches, team management and club admins are then asked about it in a highlighted Suspensions to confirm box at the top of Squad, and People in the menu shows the same number. Each one says who, how many matches, and the game it came from. For each:
- Confirm, if the length is right;
- Change, to set a different number of matches. You have to say why, for example that the County FA changed it on appeal.
If nobody answers, the length from the rules stands. Where the rules leave the length to a disciplinary commission, choose Enter the length once you know it. A red card recorded without saying what it was for is treated as serious foul play, and the suspension says so: open the match and say what it was for, and it’s worked out again.
Change or remove the card on the match and the suspension follows: it’s worked out again and asked about again, or withdrawn.
The player, or their guardian, is emailed once a suspension is settled, again if its length changes, and if it’s withdrawn. So are the managers of any other team the player is in.
Any fine for the card is listed under the suspensions, for whoever asks the squad for money: see Asking your squad for money.
Adding a suspension yourself: for a ban that no card on LEKKIN earned, open the player and choose Add a suspension from the button in the bottom corner.
- Who gave it? The league or County FA, then the competition, whose rules decide which games it covers, as a red card’s ban would. Or The club, for your own ban, which covers every game this team plays and none of the player’s other teams.
- Why? Choose the offence from the list and the length is filled in from the rules; change it if the ban is different. Or choose Something else…, say what for, and enter the number of matches.
- From: the day it starts counting, today unless you change it.
- Record a fine, if you ask the squad for money: the amount is filled in from the same rules (or your club’s red-card fine), and you choose who it’s paid to. It goes on the fines list, to ask for when you’re ready.
It stands straight away, and the player or their guardian is told. Withdraw on the suspension, on the player’s page, takes back one added by mistake or overturned; a fine recorded with it is withdrawn too.
Injuries
Anyone injured today has a small + on their picture in the squad. Only the team’s staff see it.
To record one, open the player and choose Add an injury from the button in the bottom corner. Say what it is and when it started. If you know when they’ll be back, untick Not known yet and choose the date; otherwise leave it, and they stay injured until somebody changes it. A player can have more than one injury at once. The player, or their guardian, can add and change their own injuries in the Player Hub too, and you all see the same ones.
On the player’s page, each injury has:
- They’re back, when they’ve recovered, which moves it into their history from today;
- Change, to correct it or move the date they’re expected back. Remove in there is only for one added by mistake.
When the date they were expected back comes, they’re available again, and their page asks Is Sam back? Choose Yes to move it into their history, or Not yet to choose a new date.
Adding and removing a player’s guardians
Open the player and choose Guardians from the button in the bottom corner. It lists who acts for them. To add one:
- Someone already here links somebody who already acts for another player in your squad, such as a brother’s or sister’s parent.
- Someone new adds a first and last name (a display name is optional) and, if you have it, an email, then Add and link. This makes a record only. It doesn’t give them a login. If their email already belongs to somebody at the club, you’re offered to link them instead. If it belongs to somebody elsewhere, only a club admin can invite them, from the Club Hub.
The guardian is told, and can then see the player’s games and say whether they can play, in the Player Hub.
To take one off, press Remove beside their name and confirm. They stop seeing that player. If they act for another player at the club, they keep the Player Hub for that one.
Every change is in the club’s history. Adding and removing guardians is for the team’s manager, team management and club admins. Coaches can’t.
Correcting a player’s name
If a player’s name is spelt wrong, open their page and choose Rename from the button in the bottom corner, and correct their First, Last or Display name (optional). You can only do this for a player who doesn’t have an account, such as a player the club added. Someone who signs in to LEKKIN changes their own name, so the button isn’t there for them.
Giving them an email, so they can sign in. For a player who doesn’t sign in to LEKKIN yet, choose Set email and invite from the same button and type their address. They’re emailed an invitation from the club; the address is saved only when they accept it, so whatever was on record stays until then. Their page says the invitation is waiting, and sending again (to the same or a different address) replaces it. A guardian with no login has the same option beside their name. Someone who already signs in changes their own email in their account.
Only the team’s manager, team management and club admins can rename a player.
Numbers and positions
- Open the player, then choose Number and positions from the button in the bottom corner.
- Type their squad number, or leave it blank for none. Each number can only be worn by one player in the team at a time. Netball teams aren’t asked: players wear a position bib, so the team sheet shows each player’s position (GS, C and so on) instead.
- Tick every position they play.
- If you ticked more than one, choose their preferred position. It decides which group they’re listed under.
- Press Save.
The positions match your team’s sport, so a netball team sees netball positions.
Captain and vice-captain
- Open the player, then choose Captaincy from the button in the bottom corner.
- Choose Captain, Vice-captain or Neither. If somebody else wears that armband now, it says who: making a new captain takes it from the old one.
- Press Save.
It starts today. Your team has one captain and one vice-captain at a time. The player is told in their LEKKIN inbox (or their guardian is, for a player who has one); nobody else in the squad is, and nobody is told when somebody stops being captain. A player who leaves the squad stops being captain too, and the team’s manager and the club’s admins are told, by email and in their inbox, so somebody chooses a new one. The message opens your squad.
Only the team’s manager, team management and club admins can change who’s captain. For one match, choose somebody else on the team sheet instead (see Match day).
Adding a player who is already at the club
Choose Add from the club from the button in the bottom corner. Search by name, then press Add. Anybody already in your squad says In the squad.
They join from today. They can be in more than one of the club’s teams at once.
Adding a new player
For somebody who isn’t at the club yet:
- One player: choose Invite a new player from the button in the bottom corner. Fill in their first name and last name, a display name if they’re known by another name (Ronaldinho, say), and, if you have them, their email, date of birth and squad number, and any of the club’s own player fields (a required one has to be filled in). Tick Add their guardian to add the person who acts for them, with their first and last name too. Anyone with an email address is invited to the Player Hub. If somebody in the team already wears that squad number, nobody is added and you’re told which numbers are taken: choose another or leave it blank.
- A whole squad: choose Import from a spreadsheet from the same button. See Importing your squad.
Somebody whose email already has a LEKKIN account joins once they accept the invitation.
Letting people ask to join your team
Open People, then the Join requests tab, and press Make a join link. Share the link or its QR code in your team’s group chat. Whoever uses it asks to join your team, and isn’t asked which. They confirm their email, and their request appears on that tab, along with anyone who chose your team on the club’s own form. Each shows who asked, their note and their answers to the club’s questions. Press Approve and they’re in your squad, or Reject and the request is deleted. You’re told when a request for your team arrives (unless you’re a club admin, who hears about it as the club’s). A club admin can answer the same requests in the Club Hub; whoever answers first settles it. The tab is there for whoever can add players to the squad, and goes if your club has switched joining off.
The club’s squad photo
A player chooses their own photo (or their guardian does), but the club can add its own: a squad photo, shown on the squad and on the player’s page instead of theirs. Open the player and choose Squad photo from the button in the bottom corner, then Add a photo (or Change photo). Choose a PNG, JPEG or WebP picture under 2 MB.
The player, or their guardian, is told, and can remove it from the Player Hub. You can add another; they’re told again. Remove takes the squad photo off, after asking, and the squad shows their own photo again. The squad photo is the club’s one photo of that player, so every team at the club shows the same one.
Adding a squad photo is for the team’s manager, team management and club admins.
Moving a player to another team
Open the player and choose Switch team from the button in the bottom corner. Pick any of the club’s other teams. They leave your squad today and join that one, and their positions go with them. So does their number, if nobody in the other team wears it. If somebody does, give them a different number, or tick Skip and they join with none. Their new team’s manager can set it later.
Press Move to and confirm. The other team’s management and the player, or their guardian, are told. Their history with your team stays.
Taking a player out
Open the player, choose Number and positions from the button in the bottom corner, then Take out of squad. Their place ends today. The matches they played, and their history with the team, stay.
Bringing somebody in for one match
Short of players? Bring in somebody from another of the club’s squads for a single match:
- Open the match from Matches → Fixtures and go to the team sheet.
- Press the Team sheet button in the bottom corner, then Bring in a player for this match, and Add the player.
- They appear in your team sheet marked Guest, ready to pick.
They’re a guest for that match only. They stay in their own squad, and they won’t be in your team sheet for the next game. To change your mind, open the same list and press Remove guest. If they’re already in the team sheet, take them out of it first.
Your team’s details
The team’s manager can correct its name, age group and gender. Its leagues are its competitions and the season’s question (see Your team’s competitions). Open Configure from the menu (in More on a phone): it opens on Team details. Change what’s wrong and press Save changes. Its home ground, and whether it’s a youth team, are set by a club admin in the Club Hub.
Below that, This team’s kit shows the shirts the team wears. It wears the club’s kit until you choose Its own kit, which starts from the club’s: change what differs and press Save. Wear the club’s kit goes back.
